About Us

Reality Escapes is a premium outdoor living company delivering high-end residential landscapes and pools across Sydney, the Illawarra, and South Coast NSW. We design, build, and maintain outdoor spaces for clients who expect quality at every stage.

We are building a team of people who want to grow, take on real responsibility, and help shape a business that is serious about becoming Australia's most trusted name in premium outdoor living.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Outdoor Carpenter to join us full time.

This is the right role for someone who can run carpentry from start to finish, lead a team on the ground, and hold the standard our clients invest in when they choose Reality Escapes.

The scope spans decks, pergolas, alfresco areas, privacy screens, pool houses, fencing, garages, and boat and storage sheds. Owning that scope means reading plans, sequencing the work, directing and mentoring your team, purchasing materials, managing deliveries, and keeping the Project Director across progress without needing to be chased.

As a senior trade, you will also prepare internal cost estimates for carpentry scopes, build supplier relationships, and communicate directly with clients on site. The standard expected there is the same as everywhere else.

This is not a role where you show up, do your section, and leave the rest to someone else. The service we provide is as important as what we physically build, and this person is central to delivering both.

What We Are Looking For

  • Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent. Builder's licence preferred.

  • Proven experience running outdoor or structural carpentry independently, start to finish.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, direct, and mentor a team on site.

  • Strong ability to read and work from construction plans and documentation.

  • Experience preparing cost estimates for carpentry scopes, ideally in Excel.

  • Proven ability to build and maintain supplier relationships in the construction industry.

  • High standards of client communication and professionalism on site.

  • Comfortable using project management software as part of daily workflow.

  • White card as a minimum. Additional licences and tickets viewed favourably.

What We Offer

  • A structured, well-run business with real systems, processes, and tools.

  • Competitive salary.

  • Genuine pathways to leadership as the business grows.

  • Investment in your development through skills-based training.

  • A team that holds itself to a high standard and expects the same from everyone in it.

  • A workplace where craft is respected and quality is non-negotiable.

  • A solid team culture with regular events that bring the group together.

If that sounds like the right place for you, we want to hear from you.
